2019 NPDA Nationals: Hired Judging

Consider joining us at NPDA Nationals on March 14-17 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT as a hired critic. If you are interested, please email me at: npdanationals@gmail.com. Below are the details about requirements and compensation.

According to NPDA tournament operating procedures, the Tournament Director may secure additional hired critics. Any hired critic must be sponsored by a member school participating in the tournament. In addition, hired critics must have completed and submitted complete philosophies and proof of Title IX training (either from their sponsoring institution or via NPDA online training) on time. Hired judges are hired for the first two days of the tournament for a $150.00 stipend, or $15.00 per round. If a hired judge is retained for the third day, they will be paid $15 per round judged. In some cases, travel subsidy and/or rooming accommodations may be provided at the discretion of the NPDA Executive Council.

Hired judges will be required to complete a contract acknowledging the above requirements and pay structure, as well as affirming that they will abide by the NPDA Rules of Debate & Judging and all other directives of the tournament administration staff.

Question, what process would it take to increase the payment for hired judges?

Not sure. That’s an executive council (Jeannie, David, Shannon, and Kyle) issue. I don’t set or change costs, payment, fees, etc.
