We gave community awards for the first time at the 2018 NPTE, and we would like to continue that tradition at the upcoming NPTE. With that in mind, we invite you to send in your nominations for the Coach of the Year award.
Nomination process: Please submit a letter to the NPTE Board, nominating a deserving coach: email@example.com.
Deadline: Nominations are due Monday, March 18 by 5pm CST.
Criteria: In your nomination letters, please address any of the following criteria, as well as any other factors that you would like the Board to take into consideration.
Are known for their adherence to and support of the NPTE policies and values (equity, inclusivity, and anti-harassment)
Encourage debate education through active support of curricular and/or co-curricular programming
Foster cooperation between the speech and debate program and the rest of the school, showcasing students and their achievements with administrators, school board members, and the community at-large
Lead a continuing dialogue with students, faculty, and staff members to sustain and grow debate participation
Encourage team spirit and play an active role in their debate program
Demonstrate leadership and exemplify committed support to the debate program’s livelihood
Advocate for debate activities within the school and the community at-large
Current and incoming Board members are ineligible for the Coach of the Year award. The Board will review the nomination letters, vote on the nominations by ranking the nominees, and will present the Coach of the Year Award at the NPTE 2019 awards ceremony.
